August 6th, 2021 at 12:00PMPeople obviously choose to believe in God, even if they have no proof, if it's completely faith-based, because their own ability to think and use logic to figure everything out isn't enough for them, and they're not wrong, based on their own experience and confidence in those abilities, but for some inexplicable reason, people like Sam Harris, who offer them no metaphysical alternatives to God, just can't figure out why they can't crack their thick skulls.
Who's really being unreasonable, though? All religious people naturally think they need God, at least to some extent, to keep them grounded, so they don't feel lost in an unknowable universe, and he's telling them science says they have no choice but to accept science just as religion says they have no choice but to accept religion.
