October 9th, 2021 at 5:23AMI'm not a fan of pragmatic, "lesser evil" arguments. I think if something is living inside of me I have the right to dispose of it however I wish, and the government or anyone else who has a problem with that should fuck off. But making abortion illegal, whether it's right or wrong, is dumber than making drugs or guns illegal.
Pregnant persons (LOL) who don't want children are highly motivated -- much more than substance abusers or "gun nuts" -- to save their futures from what is literally a lifelong responsibility. Which is worse: killing thousands of "unborn babies" legally or killing thousands of "unborn babies" illegally? Just like with drugs and guns (and abortion before it was federally legalized), people will still find a way, only it'll be more dangerous for the "lawbreakers". No matter what you think about the morality of abortion, making it illegal would kill and destroy more lives, not less.
Abortion exists. It's a thing people can do. Government can only make it worse. Live with it.
