I think many people don't believe because they know that once they do, they will have to change their lives in some way. They're scared of the truth. And people respond differently to different proof at different times in their life. Some are ready, some are not. I had a miraculous healing at Mass in 2019. I don't tell people often, but when I do, they don't know what to think. Some people who knew me then were amazed, others acted like they weren't even paying attention. As far as God being obscure on earth and why doesn't He make Himself known...I believe He does.
