Writing Subtext -- The Secret to Writing What's Under the Surface

There's no such thing as text without context. 🙂 I can't quite put my finger on what he's actually trying to refer to, though. The only common characteristic of every example is "what's not said". It's the intent or purpose that's missing. The meaning of "subtext" can't possibly be anything a viewer interprets "what's not said" to mean. It has to be obviously implied, not deceptively hidden or anything that requires clever deduction, otherwise anything vague or even incomprehensible appears like literary genius. 🤔 There must be more than one literary device at work here...
