It's "For what reason did you jump?" or "Why did you jump?", not "What did you jump for?" You can say it however you want, of course, and so long as you keep the order correct in your mind you won't stray from reality. You don't jump and then figure out why in the moment. That's absurd! First you determine a goal to act to achieve, and then you act to achieve that goal, which is your reason for acting. I need a cigarette...
