🙂 What am I thinking? I'm thinking I'm growing weary of the word "toxic", but I'm not sure why. 🙃 I mean, I believe it's f*cking "toxic" to use the word "toxic" to refer to some sh*t that isn't actually toxic, like physically toxic, but it also refers to an important mental phenomenon, that psychological states can be helplessly influenced (determined) by other psychological states. Physically, it's easy to avoid toxic sh*t, or even to limit the involvement of "toxic" individuals in one's life, but mentally? If an individual's independent judgment isn't sufficient to reject "toxic" ideas, then how can one avoid that influence after one's already been exposed to it? 🤷‍♂️ The comparison between the physical and the mental simply doesn't track -- for everyone.
