Is a masculinity a presidential prerequisite? | On Balance
August 5th, 2023 at 1:43AMI don't think so, to be honest -- considering the unstoppable progress of modern technology -- but a better question -- a more accurate one that would lead to a definitive answer -- would be: "Can a woman be masculine?"
If you think a woman can be masculine, and masculinity is required to be president, then you would think in order for a woman to be elected over a man she would have to be perceived as more masculine than a man, and that will never happen, unless most men suddenly become feminine, which you would think they could be if you think a woman can be masculine. Why, though, would you think masculinity is required to be president if you think men and women can be equally masculine and feminine? It doesn't matter if you're a man or a woman, but it does matter if you're masculine or feminine? 🤔
All that really matters is that a candidate can get the job done, right? That we know we've elected the best man for the job? 😂 Why is either masculinity or femininity even relevant? If we rated all the past presidents on a scale that measures their -- Never mind. I'm shutting up now...
