WHAT IS GOD?

I don't believe in God, not as some omnipotent force or being or whatever that created/controls the universe, but if I seriously attempted to concretize the abstraction, or to determine what the concept actually refers to in reality, then I'm searching for something immutable, something absolute, something that will never change on me, something I can rely on to always be true, and when I don't find it -- because it doesn't exist to be found -- I have to invent it, or invent something to invent it, and so on.

That's where the idea of God as some kind of higher power comes from, the need to comprehend the seemingly incomprehensible or to explain the seemingly unexplainable, but whether God physically exists or not, He certainly means something to everyone, even if it's only imaginary, even if He's merely an integration of what we think everyone thinks He is, and even after we've understood and explained everything for which we invented Him, that very real idea, the concept itself of God as some omnipotent force or being or whatever that believers in God think created/controls the universe, will persist...
