THE CONSENT OF THE GOVERNED

Rights must be protected by government. No individual can protect his/her rights from all potential violators. Anarchists can hijack the language, elevate the word "sovereignty" to mean "freedom from government", but they cannot alter the reality that justifies the need for it. If "individual sovereignty" means we don't have to respect the rights of other sovereign individuals, then no individual is sovereign.
