When the Metaphorical Becomes Physical | Bret Weinstein and Heather Heying
September 26th, 2024 at 3:48AMYeah. "Deep" is psychobabble for "you forgot why you keep doing this thing that's bad for you". Think about it. If something you're totally unaware of is influencing your decision-making, then it absolves you of the responsibility of the consequences, which, ironically, is probably why you buried that shit in the first place. 😂 That's not how someone who truly regrets their choices would act, though, is it?
Life after death? I think it's nonsense. How can something be dead and alive at the same time? For someone who actually believes in it, however, could it be the consequence of "deep" memories or the evasion of unpleasant thoughts or emotions? Can it be good to bury shit? To purposefully forget anguishing evaluations of facts of reality that can't be ignored? 😂
Speaking for myself only, I think it's much more likely that bullshit is bullshit is bullshit. It's not impossible to have a good reason for it, though. Avoiding judgment or punishment from others, for instance, could validly explain most of the nonsensical beliefs I've ever heard of. If everyone's doing it, though... 🙂
