I've never liked peircings, tattoos or even jewelry. I know why with the tattoos and peircings, but I've never really given much thought to jewelry. It's not permanent, so I'm confused why I don't like it. It can simply be removed, but I still don't like it, not even temporarily. I really don't like anything fake "adorning" the human body, so I guess it's the wearing jewelry I don't like, not the jewelry itself. And "fake" isn't exactly what I don't like about such things. It's the intent or purpose of it that bothers me, I think. If it's just for looks, to impress others or even if it's just for your own pleasure, it still implies that in some way you're unhappy with whatever you're adorning, and it just makes no sense to me when the natural thing you're visually embellishing (😆) is still obvious or whatever. The practice itself is not lying or bullshit, because it's so blatant, but it is a sort of communicating without communicating and I guess that's what really has always disturbed me about it.
