Can Philosophy Discern Sex and Gender? | Closer To Truth
July 4th, 2025 at 5:48AMExcellent question! Makes my brain hurt. The answer is: 😂. We can't discern shit without philosophy.
That's not really the problem with the "trans" issue, however. The problem is just as philosophy can be used to identify shit, it may also be misused to completely evade the reality of the shit we identify.
For instance, if we labeled a "trans-man" a "female man" or a "trans-woman" a "male woman", then the logical dependency of gender on sex would not be fully "liberated". It's literally that misapplication of valid concepts to unlimited contexts that transgender supporters wish to promote. Reality is really too limiting for them, so disconnecting gender from sex is merely a next logical step after disconnecting logic from reality. 😘
If we can lose the "male/female" when identifying, discerning or choosing our gender, then why can't we lose the "trans"? Because it's the male/female identification we really reject, but we can't reject it without identifying what we're rejecting, so first we use philosophy to identify our sex, then we misuse philosophy to reject it, with any concept with which we can distract ourselves. "Trans" is used to equivocate biological qualities we want to evade. It's bad philosophy, but it's philosophy nonetheless.
Other than the fact we can't actually change our sex, the wish to change it isn't bad or wrong or evil or whatever. It's fundamental to humanity, that ability to alter reality to suit us rather than the necessity to adapt ourselves to it, but if you're a man who really wants to be a woman or a woman who really wants to be a man, you're just shit out of luck because as of the moment I'm writing this it still cannot be done. If you want that "in-between" biological status, the status of either a male or female who has attempted a sexual transition, you're still shit out of luck because you failed. "Society" may see you differently, but you're not, not sexually, anyway.
That's the real issue that fucks our heads up, though, isn't it? Should we adapt ourselves to society or adapt society to ourselves? Fuck! I just wasted another quality content idea on public Facebook post. 🤦♂️
