'Why Don't We Visit Reality?': Neal Relentlessly Mocks Republicans Over The Big Beautiful Bill'
July 7th, 2025 at 4:11AMSee? It's not possible in the arguments now to exclude or obfuscate or ignore the full transactions of wealth involved in all these spending plans for the public good. We can't even fake belief in it, because we didn't learn it at forty trying to afford sending two kids to college, but when we were the kids and confused why some businesses are somehow more liberally-approved than others. It's not just about helping the unfortunate, like everyone says, but also increasing the profits of the "helpers" -- and we know it.
This rich versus poor shit just isn't convincing to taxpayers any more, not because that's true, but because it's so obvious. There's no "good" option here for altruists. Some business, regardless of where the money ultimately ends up, is getting richer at everyone else's expense. In other words, we can't convince ourselves the other side doesn't know better than to buy the bullshit everyone is selling to everyone else -- in politics.
Reality? 😂 The reality is no one thinks wealth redistribution works for anyone. 😂 Everyone just thinks everyone else thinks it does. 😂 And now we know why...
