The myth of the ‘marketplace of ideas’— and how it warps free speech

A "belief" is a concretized idea, so "beliefs" can be easily bought and sold, i.e., "traded", no different than anything else that's tangible... 🤔

"Free speech" refers to the content, the ideas qua ideas. Their form, which is much more types of products than most people would think, is irrelevant.

And, as an aside, mythical or not, it's not free speech that it would "warp", it's our conceptualization of it. 😁
